After a lot of thought (and endless procrastination), we've decided to start a blog. We hope to share tips and tools, advice and techniques that work well for us and our clients. At first, we weren't sure that we had a lot to say in a blog, with so many great ones out there about organizing and downsizing. What we hope to bring you are topics that are relevant, engaging or new. We'll put our own spin on things and share what we find interesting and useful.
Every blog has a theme ; travel, technology, photography, and some much more obscure topics. So, what are we going to focus on? Well, the concept of "space" is what we'll talk about. Not space as in stars and moons, but the space you live, work or play in.
We won't have one point of view. That's very important to us. Often, organizers and designers have a way they do things ... we don't. We may have certain ideas and principals we're centered on, but to us things only work if they work for the person or family using them. So, we'll be offering up a variety of ideas, looks, techniques and options.
What defines a great space is it's reflection of the occupant's personalities. It's at it's best when it's a collection of things you love, collected over a lifetime ... old and new, expensive and not, practical and whimsical. There are no rules to what we do, just suggestions and examples that offer up alternatives that might work for you.
The blog, like the work we do, will be somewhat broad. Our clients love that we offer "a range" of services, often well beyond what they expected. That was a big part of the concept behind our business. We like to be a "one stop shop" as much as possible, to accomplish whatever the client needs, the blog will follow the same principle. Organizing, downsizing, design ... it's all fair game.
Be prepared to like lots of what you see here and tolerate the things you don't. It's only by offering up a variety of options, styles and ideas that we can find what works for you.
We love hearing what you think ... so let us know when we bring you things that strike a chord. Polite critiques are also welcomed, really ... we can take it!
